- Base-coat scratch: Fixable. Base-coat scratches reach down into the enamel layer of the vehicle’s paint job. They require more intense scratch repair but can still be fixed. Depending on the color and size of the scratch, repainting may not be necessary.
- Primer scratch: Fixable. Even scratches that reach down to the vehicle’s metal can be repaired, but they will require skilled paintwork. The scratch needs to be cleaned out and filled, and then a professional repair shop will repaint the area.
